LOUISIANA La. — UL’s baseball team may officially pick up an area standout as early as today.
Former Notre Dame football and baseball standout Jeff Cook, who spent his natural freshman year as a redshirt football player at LSU, will be transferring to Louisiana to join the Ragin’ Cajun baseball team.
Cook did not report to the Tigers’ camp Tuesday, and had previously had a meeting with LSU head coach Nick Saban to express his desire to leave the Tiger football team and turn his attentions to baseball.
Cajun head baseball coach Tony Robichaux said that Cook had come to him within the last two weeks expressing a desire to transfer.
