I read it again and noticed three things. The bids were due October 1, 2004. It's not Sports Exceed Turf, it's SportExe. What does it mean "SportExe, has been involved in both Superdome turf projects"? If they went bankrupt how can they still be involved, and why would they have to sell if it is the same people?

    Ragin' Cajuns

Was told by an "insider"(very good source)November 2005 was when they would break ground.
With the State delay and then the Ice Gator financial probs some potential changes in the practice facility(like No basketball court-use Cajun Dome if Ice Gators leave, and add possibly weight room onto facility as well as indoor track stands?)

    Wait and see!!

    Just some #'s

Weight room addition years ago cost appox. $850,000
New weight room if same size addition on to existing one would cost at least $850,000 to $1,000,000

New offices at the front right side of complex building $500,000 to $1,000,000

I spoke with a coach and he proposed this:

-Use existing weight room for New offices/meeting rooms (cost not very much building already there, put up interior walls and electrical)

-Extend the Indoor facility by ONE section(minimal cost--shell of the building is NOT where the cost lies)

-Clip the basketball court off(use Cajun Dome)save $1,000,000

++with these savings putting a $400,000-$500,000 set of bleachers, small consession, restrooms, dressing rooms and extra section of building to house this)
IT IS EASILY PAID FOR WITH THE SAVINGS OF NOT BUILDING THE BASKETBALL SECTION, NOT ADDING ADDITIONAL BUILDING FOR OFFICES USE EXISTING WEIGHTROOM AND ADD WEIGHTROOM TO PRACTICE FACILITY!!!

I agree with the both of you. At UL tring to make improvements is like pulling teeth. It a long and slow proccess.

TELLING you, November 2005, waiting on icegators, archs, and starting now will interfere with Spring training on through football season!!

Some folks are proposing skipping the basketball court, however the AD does not believe that is a good idea. If it is not the Ice Gators, something else will interfere with having a practice court available in the Dome.

I think you have to have a basketball practice court. The CajunDome will try to attract another minor league franchise of some sort when he IceGators fold and this will probably lead to problems scheduling practices in the CajunDome.
