Here's the question I have if you guys don't mind me contributing. Why did UL not play a traditional style spring football game this season? I hope it all works out this fall the way everyone is hoping, especially with the tremendous talent we have in the backfield and at wide receiver this year.

Spoke with Coach Hud after the spring drill and he said they were down to the last center (the others were dinged a bit in practice) and they didn't want to risk a serious injury to someone playing out of position for just a spring practice. He volunteered this without our asking because he was hoping we weren't too disappointed and had fun watching the drills.

---Yea the center situation was the reason but EMcG was also held out-----Sometime not doing beats doing---No scouting from other teams!!!

Help me here, seems like it might help in the first game of the season but not beyond.

After that they would rather look at game film.

    Am I off?

Not necessarily--- there is more to it than just the film---For instance if I break down last year's Cajun videos--now I go to the Spring game and although you don't want to show much, you see small little changes---also you capture all the things done and then try to project what in their entire arsenal they think would do best against us--Any new players that didn't play last year could have certain weaknesses that can be acted upon---ANYTHING can be a difference maker!!!

So is a simple solution no video at the spring game?

I know that demand didn't stop Bill Belichick. I also know he didn't learn that trick from his father. Because when his dad (Steve Belichick) coached at UL, video was not an option.

Don't see the size of lineman playing into those outcomes to any great extent.
and in the Moanroe game UL QB broke his thawing arm in the 3rd quarter!

Or any strengths of any particular players, tendencies, new schemes, etc Coach was able to hide this!
