First-responders got an unidentified man out of pickup truck at mid-day Friday before rising backwater along U.S. 190 West could threaten him.

The west-bound pickup left the roadway for an unknown reason just past the Bayou des Cannes bridge.

After getting the driver out, first-responders from Eunice and district fire departments gave way to a wrecker service, who employe waded out to the truck, attached a wench line and pulled the still-running Chevrolet out of the water.

State Police investigation continues.
