He's going to have to improve his scoring, shooting percentage, and free throw percentage. His numbers on offense are just enemic for a starting point guard.

All of his offensive stats improved from year 1 to 2. Still not good but there is an upward trend. As far as the roster moves, I think they will help the team and EP. Adding some veteran presence will certainly help.

Payton's stat line of 10.7 points, 3.6 Rebs, and 6.4 assists per game is pretty solid. If the magic adds an actual shooting guard who can shoot, I think Payton's scoring will go up by a good bit. When victor and Payton were in the floor together, the defense didn't have to respect the outside shot and sagged to clog the lane. Basically killing Payton's strength of driving to the basket.

Agreed and the Magic didnt bring him in for his offensive numbers, anyway. His contribution will be on defense, distributing the ball and pressing the lane to kick to the open 3 shot.

Elfrid Payton has had a busy summer, spending the past month working to improve his jump shot for this upcoming season with the Orlando Magic.

But this Sunday, Payton will be helping youths age 8 to 17 improve their basketball skills.

Elfrid had 26 and 14 in a game about 10 days ago. He is now coming off bench but still plays starter minutes. Magic have also been winning more frequently in recent days and are sniffing 0.500. Note they play at New Orleans on Wednesday January 18.

Career high 28, 9,9 on Saturday night vs Jazz and 20 and 12 yesterday vs Nuggets. His jump shooting form looks much improved and his free throw and field goal percentages so far have seen increases. Hope he continues.

No argument there. However, he recently had a game with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Elfrid just needs to put up those nos. more frequently. Note, he will be in New Orleans tomorrow night when the Magic take on the Pelicans.
