Personally, seeing as the Pelicans needed a defense-first guard, I was hoping they'd try and swing Rajon Rondo's expiring contract or a pick to Orlando for Payton. Wasn't to be, I guess. Dell Demps likes to throw any possible assets in a fire before they can do any real good for the team.

I'm not sure the Pelicans had the cap space to go after him after they are paying Mirotic $12.5 million for this year.

Magic lost 3 of their top 6 players to injury earlier in the season. That is why they are struggling. At the beginning of the season, they were doing fine. One thing I noticed against the Pels. One of his free throws hit his hair upon release which I think caused the miss.

Payton's hair is horrible. Needs to get rid of the Little Richard look. When hair gets in the way of a free throw, its time to address.

Elfrid could probably pick up quite a bit of quickness and speed if he addressed his hairdo and got a little more aerodynamic!

I'm not sure where you got this one from but his offensive and defensive ratings are the highest they've ever been this year

Stats can be deceiving. Something like defensive efficiency tells more about the team than one individual. My eyes tell me that Elfrid is still playing hard on D.

My math tells me that until Chandler shot out of his mind late in the 4th quarter, the Suns were much more effective defensively when Elfrid was on the floor than when he wasn't. And his teammates gave up a lot of easy buckets while he was in there.

He said he's going to cut it soon. He's "over" getting questions about it.

Unlike Orlando, there's a chance Phoenix is actually going somewhere. That said, the PG position is crowded there when all are healthy.
