Thread: Elfrid Payton

  1. UL Basketball Payton has created bunch of new Orlando Magic fans

In the mid-1970s, there were an awful lot of New York Yankees fans in the Acadiana area with local product Ron Guidry pitching for the Bronx Bombers.

In the 1980s, more than just a few NBA fans in these parts supported the Philadelphia 76ers with ex-Ragin’ Cajun great Andrew Toney being a first-round draft pick there.

Has anybody asked him what he calls his hair style? I'm just curious as to what he calls it.

Good coverage of Elfrid in the Times Picayune linked above.

  6. Default Elfrid Payton likes what he sees in Orlando

Since the draft, Payton has been through a gantlet of news conferences, team meetings and interviews. He said he reports to the Magic on Tuesday and after that, he’ll be off to a series of summer league games in Orlando.

So far, the Magic has made a favorable impression, the John Ehret High product said.

I wonder what last years #10 pick signed for

  9. UL Basketball Re: Elfrid signs with Magic

EP is wasting no time, he is moving forward to lead, and win. Rookies holding out for a few scrapes more of this or that is counterproductive, their pay is pretty much set.

His thank you was absolutely awesome. Too many fans missed his time here, missed one of the best players to ever set foot here. Unfortunately circumstances kept me home this season, but I was in total awe in his first two years.

I think I developed a man crush on the sixth man play vs WKU, but I watched that on television.

Don't know what he signed for, but safe to say he went from college student to multi-millionaire in a few short weeks. And that is great for he and his family.
