All they needed to win the game was 9 2nd quarter points.
Elfrid Payton finished in 4th place in the Rookie of the Year voting. Minnesota wing Andrew Wiggins ran away with the award.
In a league that rewards scoring, a fourth place finish is a great accomplishment.
Congratulations Elfrid
They should really rename it the rookie scoring title, but oh well. Congrats Elfrid!
Diehard you cannot win any sport with a score of zero to something. Basketball is about scoring with speed bumps called defense. EP is an awesome talent that needs to hit free throws and score from the floor.
Until he is at least average in those two areas he will not be considered a complete player.
Interesting to see Nerlens Noel actually finish 3rd. I had no doubt that 1 and 2 would be Wiggins and Mirotic but didn't think Noel would be in that conversation. It is interesting, however, that each of those 4 guys got 1st place votes and it shows the bias that they still have. EP's votes came from Orlando writers and I would imagine that Noel's came from Philly as well. Its great to see a guy who I didn't give much of a chance to do anything in the league have a solid year and develop offensively. I think many people forgot about him after he couldn't play last year.
Enjoyed this!
