Jake Delhomme came from a small school, went to USL, did not get drafted, and would have won a Super Bowl had it not been for an errant kick off!

ps BWK, best of luck to your son and to you the Parent and the fan, enjoy his last year in HS, it goes by so quick! The operant word again is "enjoy".

Hope to see your son run out of the tunnel of his dreams, and hopefully that is UL.

BWK, your kid will have to wait and see when it comes to offers. It isn't his physical attributes that is holding things up. It is his competition. Playing at a 1a HS is a killer. No matter how good he is, there are very few kids like Al Woods, who by the way was a fall back prospect for LSU.

Your son can play, he is talented and has the size. But he will just have to wait and see. It sucks, I went through it and made the wrong decision. But just let things play out and not blast it across to the Ragin Cajun nation. Nothing good will come of that.

---My senior year in HS---We were in the highest classification and when Jesuit played HC--there were 22 players in the game that signed football S-ships---In baseball we were 3rd in the country in Legion ball and had 12-15 sign to play college ball---It is a tough one to judge but I have seen the small school kid just dominate the bigger school kid and the opposite is also true!!!

Yeah, but you know how urban legends get started. And let's face it there have been a few of those mentioned on here also. If one of the coaches mentioned 4.9 I don't know about it. And I just don't think some of the people on here realize how amazing it is to even be talking about a man of that size running that fast. It's very possible by the end of the summer he could be that fast & benching 325 or more.

I'm not putting anything past his desire & ability right now. That's why I'm amazed at what he is doing. I thought he was just about finished developing. But he's hit another gear. And it's a gear only extremely self-driven world class type players like a Chase Conrad hit when they fill their oats. He is impressive to see out on the field. And I wish everyone who reads this board could see him competeting against the best in this state over the next couple of days. But Scout & Rivals won't be there because they're corporate hoars sold out to Under Armour, & Nike. So if a kid hasn't been getting looked at since the eighth grade they don't know jack crap about him. Furthermore he's tagged with late bloomer stats. How did that early recruiting crap work out for USC on that QB they offered like five years ago? So eighty per cent of each school's scholarships are promised out to guys who many can't even spell their own name or figure out how to get to the right building to take their ACT. But my son who's done it all by the book & the right way stands a chance to get punished because he's not on the inside of the Nike/ Under Armour hoar house.

I don't know about that. I think there are a lot of coaches & parents that could read this thread & easily identify with what's wrong & completely out of whack with this screwed up system. There might be some who would hold what I'm saying against me. But most absolutely understand everything I'm saying. And why my frustration level is as a parent who wants to continue to support the local home town university & wants to see his son be able to play in front of his friends & relatives in his home town. But may have to travel hours away from where he wants to be because of a stupid system which too many people have come to rely on & which is driven by corporations instead of understanding the human spirit. It's all business now. And if my son is as good as I think he is, no one is going to hold my opining on a local thread against his ability to play for them. If anything, they should welcome the honesty as a breath of fresh air. Because they all know what it is. And damn few of them like it even though it feeds the monkey.

BWK, you dodged my question and I'm curious to hear your defense.

You have "called" talent on this site for a few years now. There's no denying that you think you have the eyes of a top scout. You proclaimed Justin Hamilton to be a All-Pro lineman when he was a senior in high school. When 17 years old in college, you wrote off Elfrid Payton. Those are just a few to mention.

How can you critique high school recruits and college athletes yearly on this site and radio and justify it because you believe you know talent when you see it, yet blast Scout and Rivals for doing the same towards your son?

BWK, have you guys thought about him transferring to a school like STM? I know they'll find talent no matter where it's at, but I'd have to imagine it'd be easier for coaches to notice and evaluate him against 4A and 5A schools instead of schools like Gueydan, for instance. He's got to have like 100 pounds on Gueydan's biggest kid.

Because as I recall, you didn't have a question. You only had a smart ___ remark about how I underestimated EP beng drafted as high as he was. I'll tell you why rivals & scout don't have my son listed. They don't have him listed because while he was winning a weight lifting competition to raise money for his school, Nike was having a high school combine in San Antonio we didn't know anyrhing about. Had we known, we would have been there. We didn't know about tge combine, or how important it was for him to attend. So how in hells blazes can rivals, or scouts know about him if in their eyes he doesn't even exist? And even if he does exist he just flat didn't care enough to go to their combine. Guess what. There is no make up test. So figure it out for yourself. You have someone who didn't knowcthe ropes so the train leftvthe station while they were do gooding. Now he's screwed because it doesn't matter what I say. It doesn't even matter how well he does in his camps. The only people who will know about him are the guys whocwork him out at the camps he attends. Do you understand that? So who's to blame? I guess I am. How was I supposed to know? I would guess with all the people I was communicating with, one of them would have known enough to tell me to make certain Josh attended that Nike camp...Or else he isn't even alive. I guess it's like being born without a burth certificate, or social security number. I guess if I was in love with reading abour my son as much as some on here seem to think, I would have looked for him sooner & asked, now why isn't hecin that there whatchamacallit. But I didn't think to ask. And certain people I relied on sure as ____ didn't bother ti tell me. Or tell me how fuxkibg important it was for him to attend one of those camps. So you see? I don't give ____ how gret Rival's & Scout's credentials are. If you don't know how to swing on the first f...ing vine then they don't even know you're alive. How's that for a f...ing answer @$$hole?

So nowcwe have the mystery solved of why Qyen Griffin was Mr. Football in Mississippi & wasn't listed by Rivals or Scout's. It didn't have f... all to do with his grades, or his ATC score.
