Motor City executive director Ken Hoffman said the Motor City Bowl was impressed with FAU when it traveled to East Lansing this year to play Michigan State.
“Perhaps the tie-breaker was FAU played in this area this year and got a lot of media attention when they played Michigan State,” he told The Daily Advertiser in Lafayette, La.
“In addition to that attention, we also considered the offense they run and the fact they have an NFL-type quarterback in Rusty Smith. Plus, Howard Schnellenberger is a legend and will bring more to the game as well.”
