Turb you are a goofball. David Walker is reclusive with fans and media. You can't really picture the man proactively wheeling and dealing for a spot in a bowl game can you? He is not the war room type, it's not in him.

Yeah, right. The only folks he would be calling would be his travel agent to arrange a vacation in the middle of basketball or football season -- leaving key game duties to an underpaid, but extremely loyal and talented staff of underlings.

No you wouldn't. Unless you are a glutton for punishmenent, you might be disappointed by what you would NOT see happening.

Don't be naive. And don't confuse reclusiveness with passivity, ignorance or a lack of courage.

There are people in this town that you wouldn't want to tangle with because of their money or their clout, and mano a mano, there are others you don't want to fight because of their size, speed, or skills.

Trust me: you do NOT want to match political wits with David Walker. He is one of the fastest thinkers and meanest hard-ballers you'll ever run across. There was a reason that he dealt with the NCAA when UL had problems. He even got the NCAA to back down from time to time.

And you don't want to burn him. Oh, you'll occasionally succeed.

Exactly one time. He won't say a word. But after that, he will study you, your co-conspirators, the rules of the game, and everything about what happened. The next time it comes up, you'll get a butt-whoopin' like you've never seen.

My ancestors supposedly said that "Revenge is a dish best served cold." Well, David Walker is the master of vichyssois. The Indy Bowl & Tech burned him once. Let's hope they enjoyed it.

    A whole lot...

You have got to be kidding me with this garbage.

Please do tell what the master mind David Walker has up his sleeve now, or can you not say because the mere thought of what he has planned will cause you to go into a comma.

    Give me a freakin break.

Doh! You're absolutely right. I've spent the past 30 years watching this University and learning who the players are, and how they got there.

    But what do I know?

I'm just a low-life liar, and you're the Second Coming.

Fun--I spent 45 years doing the same thing---these people for the most part came up through Coach Blanco--I have said that far too many people only know the bad of him --However in talking with the VP of student affairs at ULM and Dr. A the other day one realizes the people he has under him to advance--Ed Pratt, Walker, T-Joe, J Clark and more-----But this has been our administration for a while---If intrinsic motivation means anything we will reach our goals---How talented they are I really do not know---DW did some great paper work with Lsu, Mc N and Southern---hiring I don't know--my 2 cents!!!

DW may be very quite publicly but I have to believe he does his job behind the scenes.

Now having said that, I wasn't saying those were things I knew to be happening, I was trying to convey those were things I thought (or hoped) would-should-could be happening.

If I were in the war room I would have been telling any bowl that would listen that we would wave any payout. The reasons are obvious.

If I were Bustle I would have taken out a personal $100,000 loan and offered it to any interested bowl committee. The reasons are obvious.
