MakoMaker is right ULL tried to play a 1AA but for them it was not a bottom feeder but one of the top teams in 1AA that year in McNeese. ULL hasn't had a lot of success against lower division schools. I remember several years ago they played Div II Northern Alabama and got beat at home. Northern Alabama was I think the defending Div II Champion that year but a Div II non the less. I think Northwestern LA beat them one year or nearly did. ULL can't afford to play against a 1AA team like LSU and some other BCS teams who can get away with it. Its simple win your conference you get to go to a bowl game period.

Just looked up our record against d1AA. McNeese is our only loss during Bustles tenure. Also define several years. 1997 is over a decade ago.

Why are injecting facts into rcarte's great story?!? After all, he is only here to help.

The most impressive nugget he gave us was...."Its simple win your conference you get to go to a bowl game period."

Really. I wish we would have known this sooner. Maybe Bustle can hire rcarte as a personal consultant so he can figure these thing out for him.

I never referred to the record against 1AA teams in the Bustle era. I was talking about overall record against 1AA teams since ULL deceided to stay in 1A or whatever they call it now. Sometimes schools have trends against certain opponents or situations that's all. Again win your conference and you have no worries about a bowl.

Well from what I see your nuggets of wisdom are no better than anyone else's. I am just saying quit depending on winning a certain number of games because as we all can see you get screwed any way. From some of the things you have written you seem to only hang your hat on the magical 6 wins oh big deal 6-6 means average.

We have enough "advisers" that actually have a dog in the fight. Go pound sand.

You'll have to excuse MetryCajun. He's pretty well known around these parts for being a "pie in the sky" type of guy. He's constantly harping on how great it is to be a Cajun and how we've surpassed LSU in most aspects...

Thanks there are those types everywhere. He just wrote me back so I guess I better go and pound some sand (his words). I hear this 6 win thing so much from so many people it gets my goat. I am not a fan of Al Davis but he is right about one thing "Just Win Baby". I am sure Texas feels the same way. If they had just beat Texas Tech they would be playing Florida but the rules are the rules for their conference but like life its not always fair.
