Head coach Robert Lee understands the challenge awaiting his UL men's basketball team in the month of December. Coming off Tuesday's 73-64 win over McNeese State, the Cajuns are prepared for a challenging stretch in their upcoming schedule.
The proof: UL (2-3) plays three SEC opponents in the next 24 days. Today's noon matchup at Alabama (4-2) is the first SEC foe on the schedule, before road games against Tennessee on Dec. 29 and LSU on Dec. 31.
The Cajuns and Crimson Tide were originally set to play Saturday night, but the game was moved back one day after Alabama's football team advanced to the SEC championship game. UL received a guarantee of $70,000 for the non-conference game, setting up the first meeting between the programs in 46 years.
