Yesterday, Sharp announced that they have developed the Free-Form Display, a revolutionary advance over the conventional display shape concept that enables the creation of new display designs to match a variety of applications. Even though Sharp was focusing on these kind of displays in car dash boards, this advanced display technologies can be used in wearable devices with elliptical displays_too. The good news is that Sharp is planning to enter mass-production stage for the Free-Form Display at the earliest possible date. Hopefully, the upcoming Microsoft Smart Watch will use these displays for highly custom designs!
