TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington today received an e-mail from a social media company about a sponsored post program. The sponsored post should be for Internet Explorer browser and the mail was sent to him by the agency hired by Microsoft. The bloggers are required to write on the brand new Internet Explorer experience and the Rethink IE program. And you will be awarded with compensation and prizes. Even though sponsored posts are nothing new on the web, large companies like Microsoft generally avoid them. As soon as Microsoft came to know about this program by the vendor hired by them, they have suspended the program. Here is the statement from Microsoft, “This action by a vendor is not representative of the way Microsoft works with bloggers or other members of the media. The program has been suspended.” Source: Arrington
