That game doesn't impact your bowl situation. The game you need to worry about is in Tucson and you need Arizona State to lose so you don't get shut-out. _
This is not true, we are pulling for Troy IF we want a chance to get to a bowl game. If ASU wins, Troy can give up the NO bowl for a better bowl and ASU would go to the NO bowl because they would be 7-5. If Troy wins, Troy must go to the NO bowl and ASU would be 6-6, therefore the Cajuns would look more appealing to bowls such as the Independence Bowl.

That's what I thought. I would be shocked if ASU can go down to Troy and get a win.

Wow who do you get your info from.

If ASU wins Troy doesn't give up jack, ASU earns the New Orleans Bowl under the tie-breakers. Troy goes to PJ by being 7 win under the contract there.

No combination puts the Cajuns in Indy, New Orleans, or Birmingham.

You MUST have Arizona State to win to open a shot at Houston. What happens in Troy matters to UL solely in determining if you get rings (ASU wins) or do not (Troy wins).

But a Troy loss to ASU takes away Birmingham.

If Troy wins, that would keep them in the NO bowl. That would leave the PJ bowl open, and give the Cajuns a shot at that bowl.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you that the outcome has no impact on UL. It MAY have no impact, but I feel it (an ASU win) would add to the pressure against UL getting a bid. I would be glad for a co-championship, but fear it could cost us a bowl bid. I'm afraid ASU winning would guarantee the Red Wolves and Troy a bowl bid but keep us on the outside looking in. Sorry. If I knew we'd be in regardless of tonight's outcome, I'd cheer for ASU so we could also be co-champs.

I do agree with you that Troy would NOT give up the NO Bowl if stAte wins. ASU would win its way into the bowl. I also agree it is crucial for our bowl bid to have ASU (the other one) lose.

A ASU lost to Troy means they are another 6-6 team and the Cajuns have more of a shot then the Red Wolfs. Bottomline, a Troy win benefits the Cajuns.

You have ZERO shot at PJ regardless of ASU-Troy.
    No shot at Indy either.

Your shot is Houston or Motor City and Motor City will take ASU over UL.

We will see, but that would be based upon what factor?

Arkstfan, where are you getting your info about us not having a shot at indy and papajohn's? And if asu loses, we believe that yall will not get a bowl, or at least wont get picked ahead of us, so that helps us. We feel that for indy and houston that we would be a better option at 6-6 than yall, one because we beat yall, and 2 because we travel well. Some of this depends on where ND ends up as well. And the simple fact is that if you win, that puts you at 7 wins, making you a lock to get a bid over all the 6-6 teams, you losing doesn't give u an automatic bid and keeps you in the pool with the Cajuns, giving us one more spot that we could land in. It's pretty simple from what I see. Geaux Trojans!

That would be base upon the fact that nobody that posts on this board knows more about anything NCAA or SBC related than does Arkstfan.

If he says it's O.K. for us to root for the Red Wolves, I will. I will do so because if they win, we get another share of a conference championship and some more jewelry.

I will do so even though if we get those things, it will make me look like an even bigger bafoon than I do know to some on this board for ridiculing the staff as much as I do and calling for their jobs if we had lost to MT.

I will do so even though I know it probably means Bustle will get a hefty raise and extension with another championship.

Arkstfan is right. Simply root for Arizona and Arkansas State.

If they both win, we get it all.

A CHAMPIONSIP, RINGS, and a BOWL GAME.

That, my friend, would be pretty freakin' sweet.

He is right that we are out of the Indy Bowl or PappaJohn Bowl picture, but a ASU win hurts us in the Texas Bowl scenario.

How did we all of a queen get eliminated from the indy bowl picture? Did i miss something?

You probably right about papajohn's bowl, but bottom line, another 7-5 teams takes away a possible spot, don't know where, but somewhere down the line, ND choses where they go, NCSt gets picked as well as ASU and Troy because they have 7 wins, more 6 wins teams opens up a spot because, as far as I know, we havent been eliminated from any of the possible bowl spots because no one has gotten an invite and excepted it, I'm not that naive, but technically, we still have shots at those bowls. So many scenarios can still play out.

I have a question for ArkStFan, do yall think you are going to a bowl no matter what happens in the game tonight? Thats where my confusion lies. Because if you think that, then okay, you are right, the game doesn't matter to us, and I agree with you. We don't believe that you will get a bowl ahead of us unless you win. But if you think you have to win to get a bowl, obviously we don't want yall to win because then we are left with something like 7 teams for 3 spots... don't quote me on the numbers just a guess.
