    Default Hardy Edmiston

I am sorry to report that longtime UL fan and benefactor, Mr. Hardy Edmiston, has passed away.

Mr. Hardy's grandson, Drew, just finished his senior season as our kicker.

Mr. Hardy was a terrific guy. Those who knew him miss him already.

I know I join all Cajun fans in sending their condolences to the family.

Hardy was a terrific person. Whenever I met him he always had a big smile and a warm greeting.

Now he could pull your leg when he was in one of his mischievous moods. It was always in fun.

I am going to miss him. A lot!

First time I met Mr. Edmiston was at a practice when Justin Venable was still playing in his 2nd 4year stent. I was watching practice with Lee Venable and Mr. Edmiston. Get those two together and I did not know what to believe, all I could do was laugh. Really nice man I would have liked to have known better.

Condolences to the Edmiston family, I know Drew will miss his grandfather as we who have lost ours all do!

when Augie T was coach and we brought in about 15-20 jucos and transfers, it was Hardy's job to have something planned for the kids so that they would not be homesick well they were blown away--parties each weekend with sororities, fishing, hunting, visits on weekends with family meals---Never have kids loved it so far from home----Yes what a just fabulous guy--he had overcome a cancer scare, what did he die of Jay????

He had been undergoing dialysis for a long time. The dialysis had caused his heart to fail and he passed away about 5:00 P.M. today. Plans are not final yet.

He actually made it to the Troy game with his son. He did not make the MT game. I'm sure he would have loved to have seen the tackle Drew made on one of the kick offs.

Very sorry to hear that. My condolences to the family. Jay, I heard you talk about him in the broadcast (webcast) Wed. night. I am sure he will be sorely missed by all.

This is a tough loss, from the few times I met him over the last few years he was so king and gentle, you had to love him.

I hope he got to know his grandson set a UL extra point record on Saturday Wednesday.

Hardy was UL sports through and through, his dorm in the late 1940's was in McNaspy Stadium (how cool) and one of his best friends was George Luffey a UL baseball and football player from the era who went on to coach at ULM and did great things while there.

Mr Hardy you will me missed.

I spoke with Steve (Hardy's son) last night. he said that Mr. Hardy wasn't very alert during the game Wednesday, but was more alert Thursday and watched the replay. He saw the hit and he knew about the record.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Mr. Edmiston was always so friendly to me at the practice fields and everytime we saw each other. The Thursday before the last game we had a assume visit.
I know that his family is feeling a great loss at this time. My heart and soul and prayers go out to them in hopes that their suffering may be lessoned.

Condolences to Drew and his family. I met Mr. Edmonston when we were planning the fan day two years ago and were touring the almost completed IPF. He was a very down to earth and frendly man and was extremely enthusiatic about UL sports.
