UL — A University of Louisiana research center focused on disaster mitigation and response received approval from the Board of Regents for the next five years.

In 2007, the Board of Regents granted conditional approval for ULL’s National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies Institute.

The center focuses on enhancing the coordination between public and private sectors in disaster response.

Board of Regents staff members recommended reauthorization through 2013, but expressed concern about external funding for the center. The university must submit to the board a financial progress report next December.
