So a sport with thousands of years of history and who's rules were defined in 1869 with a governing body formed in 1904 should change to match sports that came along long after it did?

I personally think that is one of the great things about soccer. It is continuous flow without all the stoppage of some other sports.

You are obviously a fan which I support. I love hockey which most folks down here fall asleep watching. I question a few rules in hockey. Why the heck is the puck hard as hell? It keeps the dentist busy.

You are going to hear it every 4 years, you might as well get used to that.

This is why people hate Americans when it comes to sports.

This is the worlds game. Bigger and older than any other sport, and theres a reason.

To Rage's point, yes they did allow the attack to finish. Wouldn't it be more fishy if they cut you off in the middle of a legit scoring chance when the time-add is already inconspicuous? If that had been Dempsey scoring, the narrative would be how great and gutty the Americans are to pull that result out.

    Let's have some perspective.
It wouldn't be fishy if there was a set time and if the ball didn't cross the goaline before that time was up it didn't count.

I wish FIFA would ban Suarez from all competitions.

Not all soccer players bite and flop. Just like not all NFL players eye gouge, stomp on nads, or spit on people.

How many times before you're banned for life? That's his 3rd time doing this.
