What a seat punch...
What a seat punch...
That's one reason I can't get into soccer. Stoppage time. They have Portugal five extra minutes! I don't know enough to know it was deserved but it's usually only a minute.
Now that I've taken the stake out of my chest..
Dudes, the positives: the US were easily the better side. Possessed, dominated scoring chances, physicality was great. Geoff Cameron was unlucky and Ronaldo did what great players do. He made a once in a lifetime play. Fabian Johnson, my favorite player, was to blame on that goal.
Bradley needs to be benched?? Are you high? Bradley was REALLY good tonight. Decisions were crisp and timely, defended well, etc. The late give away was inexplicable, I understand that, but he's a major reason why our team played so well.
Jermaine Jones' strike was WORLD CLASS. Tim Howard was incredible. Dempsey was Dempsey, a great American. We played a perineal top 10 team in the world with the best player in the world and we were BETTER.
I don't wanna hear another "we're middle of the pack" comment. With guys playing up to their potential and Jurgen at the controls, this team can play with anyone in this World Cup.
Ending hurt, but we still got the job done and brought home a result. Keep the faith boys.
This ____ is why we all needed to root for Germany over Ghana. Hope we're both playing for the tie.
Bradley was the 2nd best player out there tonight.
Bradley wasn't one of the six Americans in the box that had to stop ONE Portugese player. There was only one option. There was only one play to stop. And six dudes couldn't stop it. Let's take a breath before we bench one of our most important guys.
In 90% of the scenarios you can dream up, the United States advances out of the group of death.
Portugal is going to press early, because they need a 5 goal win. Even if they give up late, no way Ghana beats Portugal by 2 goals.
We can lose 20-zip and still advance. Let's all take a deep breath. Thursday's going to be a great day.
Plus, Germany's playing for a tie. If we can sneak an early one, we might just steal the group of death.
Thursday's a great day. USA advances, and I find out who my new favorite NBA team is. Great day.
Well, the ball was on our offensive right wing...had to get past pretty much our whole team to get to the back of the net on the last goal. One play, the perfect pass from the reigning player of the year, did not produce this draw. If you want to be upset with any one play, try Portugal's first goal.
As I always told my kids growing up, one play does not make a winner or loser. Otherwise, why play the whole match (game)?
