It's obvious we will have to possess in the midfield at a much higher level in order to advance, I'm hoping to chalk up the shaky play (including Bradley) to the early 1st goal. It sounds counterintuitive, but it appeared we played with greater nerves and anxiety with an immediate lead, exacerbated with a strategy to compact the midfield to a defensive posture.
We never appeared comfortable on the ball, my bet is we would have seen more quality distribution with a nil nil affair early in the game as crazy as that sounds. I've watched this team for a long time, and I've never seen so many giveaways with even the slightest on ball pressure.
Some of this was alluded to in the post game including Bradley's comments. My bet is he will be better, therefore everyone else will be.
Ok, Brazil v. Mehico is up next.
Question is your hatred of the Mexican side:
A. Rational
Or
B. Irrational
Obviously, I'll be pulling for the home team.
this is a nasty match....but also with enough flopping to seem like players are being shot with sniper rifles from the stands.....0 to 0 at half with a couple of great saves by the Mexican goal keeper nice Brazilian eye candy in the stands being picked up on the Univision broadcast...
Brazil/Mexico ends in a 0-0 draw.
