We could always put the money we save into rolling back the renovations to Tiger Stadum, since those extra seats won't be needed much longer.

Another point: Those were the years the iBowl took equal or lesser teams. There were several other years they could have easily taken UL when UL was the lesser.

No they couldn't have none of that.

Lots of seats. Zero curb appeal. BTW, worldstadiums.com is a fun site to check out if you have not already. A database of stadiums everywhere. Speaking of, they rely on contributions from visitors to stay up to date and could use a new aerial photo taken after the turf upgrade if anyone has one to email.

Who the hell did they build that stadium for in the first place?

It was built a long time ago by the city, I believe. It used to be called State Fair Stadium because it is adjacent to the Louisiana State Fair grounds. (That's right, THE LA State Fair - you know how pi**ed that made Baton Rouge. They went out and made their very own Baton Rouge STATE FAIR!) LA Tech & Northwestern State used to play an annual State Fair game there for many years (til they got "elite", lol - actually the same as us & McNeese: 2 programs following diverging paths). High school teams play there regularly (or at least used to). I played there once myself in high school. It used to be pretty dumpy, but after the I Bowl started, they did several remodels/additions to spruce it up. For you NO folks, it used to remind me of a much smaller version of old Tulane Stadium.

Default Auditor: I-Bowl Has A bleak Future

    ITEM 11 from the 2008audit:

    "11. Going Concern
As shown in the accompanying financial statements, the Foundation incurred a net decrease in net assets of $452,336 during the current period due to reserving the accounts receivable from its title sponsor for $800,000. This results in the Foundation having a deficit in net assets of <$376,529>.

In response to this situation, management has implemented an expense reduction plan as well as a plan to increase sponsorship revenues from various state and local governments, individuals, and companies.

Because it is unclear whether the Foundation will be successful in accomplishing these objectives, there is uncertainty about whether the Foundation has the ability to continue as a going concern. The financial statements do not include any adjustments that might be necessary should the Foundation be unable to continue as a going concern."

And thier fearless leader told Perott that they were sound financially??? The City advanced the bowl some cash, but may never see it again.

If they are truly trying to increams sponsorship revenues, wouldn't they invite a regional team. Not just the Cajuns, but Arkansas State would have worked. I doubt they will bring in many sponsorship dollars from Illinois when compared to what they could have brought in rom Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Of couse, what do I know. I'm drinking beer and watching the Saints on a Thursday night.
