$139.99 to stay in Shreveport? *LOL* _
You'd have to pay me $140 a night to stay in Shreveport.

It appears the hotels are going all out to draw Huskie fans down.

I thought the Latexsters were going to hang around Shreveport, filling up the hotels, getting rowdy with alcohol elixir, and spending hours in the casinos enjoying the atmosphere and betting their last dollar. Then there would be no need to entice the midwestern folks to hang around for a couple of days following the game, and everything would be hunky-dory!

    Or am I mistaken??

I just booked 2 nights in New Orleans for $180. Much better investment and a lot less of a chance I will get shot.

I think you're more likely to get stabbed or "shanked" (as the kids are calling it these days). Guns make too much noise, they bring attention and unwanted heat from the fuzz.

Or at least thats what I heard from a guy.

    I'm only kidding........kind of.

Remember Husky fans, you've still got time to register for your gun permit in Louisiana so you can carry your weapon on your person. Good Luck.

Charlie, alcohol elixir, I beg your pardon, the return of HADACOL. (Spell check does not even recognize the word)

Taking Kansas State (over UL) in 1982 was a complete and utter joke. Their teams were Balldwin like in the years leading up to that island of a 6 win season.

  8. UL Football Scott Ferrell: Sifting through I-Bowl theories

After the announcement of Independence Bowl teams on Sunday, there were enough conspiracy theories for an Oliver Stone film festival.

Some couldn't believe Northern Illinois was selected. Others couldn't believe Louisiana-Lafayette wasn't.

As with most conspiracy theories, there is probably a shred of truth somewhere in there. We may never know. I-Bowl officials, wisely, aren't talking much about them these days.

    In 2008 they could have taken UL . . . _
In 1989 we beat Tulsa and had Brian Mitchell. I am not sure that was a good decision on their part. What Turbine is saying here is that maybe we are justified in looking at stripping them of state funding.

What were the attendance in each year that UL could have gone?
