So would you like to play McNeese or Northwestern again? I would like to play McNeese again when I know we can pound them into the dirt.

Last time we lost to NW State is when Toothpick was still here I believe 2000 season, finished 1-10.

You don't need to research much to find that 1-AA good teams can beat anyone. Appy State beat a #5 Wolverines last year. They have very good teams. I would rather beat a low rated 1-A than a highly rated 1-AA.

    Now that's funny!

The NCAA needs to crack down on all these bowls. I wanted to see is us in a bowl but let's be honest. 6-6 should not get you into a bowl. We need a playoff system that will include the majors and mid majors.

The Canadian Football League, when they expanded to US, had the Professional Football team- "Shreveport Pirates".

I disagree. Isn't this what everyone digs at LSU for?

If we schedule and afford to play a few 1-AA's then fine but I would steer clear of the Southland. I'm still smarting from the McNeese loss. I have a ton of family in Lake Charles.

BATON ROUGE -- College bowl games are big money-makers for Louisiana but it takes money -- including state revenue -- to put them on, promoters of the events say.

This year's state budget contains about $2.2 million to support the Sugar Bowl, New Orleans Bowl and the Independence Bowl. All of the funding is within the lieutenant governor's budget under the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, the state's only Bowl Championship Series event, received the bulk of that funding, $1.5 million. The PetroSun Independence Bowl in Shreveport received $359,160 and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl received $335,217.
