but if we do get into a bowl, what better time for UL to insist on the LOUISIANA and UL reference by the bowl and the media. They will call us what we tell them to call us. It can all change with this one bowl game. _

How do you think La Tech would feel about that? I bet they'd fight it (if we're in the I-bowl).

I don't know that they will. There is no identity problem between Louisiana Tech and Louisiana, like Texas and Texas Tech. ULM has a stake in the name issue. However, they have settled on ULM. LSU might rear its ugly head, but it might be too late if the bowl and network pick up on Louisiana. UL has been slowly moving in that direction over the past year. Just look at the media releases, especially now for basketball. The timing could not be more perfect.

_ I am looking for a balance about 3 ways ---heavy high tech with Cajun bot, our world renowned engineering dept, and the lite center showing quickly some of it's work----secondly food, music, and social atmosphere with some great footage---thirdly a great look on Football with 3-d of Feroy coming out of the screen and quick shot of our pros!!!! _

And, a nice couple of shots of our facilities, i.e. Indoor Practice Facilty, CajunDome, new football turf (but showing the double-decked stadium side, not the high school looking student side which gives a better perception of our program and facilities).

I gotta disagree with you there. Tech seems to care an awful lot. Tech is in the same "University of Louisiana" system with us and ULM, therefore promoting us as the "University of Louisiana" could directly correlate to us being the flagship of the UL system. Understandably, Tech and ULM don't want that.

If you think Tech doesn't care about our name issue, go read the tech board. Just as many "USL/ULL/Ooh La La's" over there as on any LSU/ULM board.

Mirror-tinting the press-box and taking the blinds down from view should be #1 priority. It's cheap, and it keeps Cajun Field from looking like a 1960's stadium.

I agree with the new commercial idea, which would be great. Back to the topic at hand Fenroy's name helping us get a bowl game...I think this should be a great marketing tool however, you are preaching to the choir. Of course all us Raginpaginers will go (despite whose on the team or where they play) but what about everyone else? Many of you would be surprised at how little some students know about our sports. For example, I told my class my fascinating story about getting Fenroy’s autograph and ½ the class never heard of him. WHAT? I’ll talk about Willie Lego, Ashley Brignac, and Scott Hawkins …they don’t know who they are. I’m not trying to be Debbie Downer but the fact is many students go to school here and leave. They have no connection to the university otherwise. Sad but true. On a positive note: a bowl game may change this and give these students something to be proud of…Geaux Cajuns!

I believe it is up to us as students, faculty, or alum to HELP inform those that don't know much about our sports or players for that matter...A new commercial would be a great tool in bringing that information to students...lego is spelled lago i believe...The goal should be to EXCITE others about college athletics by utilizing tools that explain what is all about (competition, camaraderie, etc...), in lieu of getting upset or angry because people don't know as much as we think they should!

Have the theater classes come up with different commercial scripts as a class project and then have another department film and edit the commercial...have the business department come up with a marketing plan and budget...the management seniors could do an industry analysis on Universities on a nationwide level...or even international level...

basically...regardless of why we receive a bowl bid...it is still a great accomplishment by our team (we should have been first in SBC but whatever)...
