    Y'al:

Seems my vented anger brought a staisfied answer. Still upset that Tyrell didn't make finalist.

Here is answer to my e-mail mentioned in other thread:

    Chuck,

We have a panel of 31 voters. We counted the public vote as one giving us a total of 32 voters. Our system works just like the Heisman (they too include one public vote) where each voter gets to list their top three guys in order with 3 points going for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place and 1 point for 3rd place.

So the public vote went as follows in our overall tally:

    1. Tyrell Fenroy - 3 points

    2. Case Keenum - 2 points

    3. Jarett Dillard - 1 point

When we totaled them all up, unfortunately Tyrell Fenroy did not make the list of finalists. I personally had Fenroy as the third choice on my own ballot. I felt he deserved a shot, if anything, based on his four-year career that is so impressive. And I want to be up front and honest...most of the voters did not list Fenroy seemingly based upon his lower numbers put up in the first two games and his last one against Troy. Injuries also took a big toll on why Damion Fletcher missed the list as he lacked playing time in two of his games. It looks like MiQuale Lewis received most of the RB votes based on his consistency with each game. And that is not meant to take anything away from Fenroy, just a statistical comparison with another person, which is what these awards boil down to. At least that is the jest of the feedback I received from our other voters.

The sad part about these awards is that only one person can win. They are all so deserving seeing the amazing numbers they have put up, which is why we felt it was very important to create this award. And I really hope you will continue to visit our site or at the least continue to support this award because we do want the proper credit given to these types of players. They get absolutely no recognition with these post-season awards, which is bad deal. The only way to change this process is to bring as much recognition as possible. That is why we really wanted the public to have a say...and we did let it have a say with a vote.

Again, I hope you will look upon this award in the future for what it means and the fact these kids deserve it more so than the fact your guy may have missed the award. Fenroy is one of my personal favorites and I'm going to miss him next fall. It looks like I will have to send this email out to a ton of Fenroy fans, as my email box is flooded. And I am more than happy to in order to let them know how much I personally appreciate their support for the guys that get left out all too often.

Thank you so much for helping us with this award. Feel free to contact me anytime,

Nice response from Todd. At least he seems to care. He can't really control how the other voters vote. We did our part to boost Tyrell. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. But we did make our voices heard. And that's a victory in itself. Maybe the next time we have a viable candidate, it'll give him more credibility. Tyrell has been breaking new ground his whole career. This is just one more time. Thanks for sharing this with us, Chuck. Appreciate all you do for the U up in the Delmarva area. I know, it's actually the DC metro area!

i actually emailed him too and i got a little more than that as a response. I got the same thing as above and even a little more about his personal opinions about it. He also said it seems like he will be answering a lot of emails about Fenroy not being in the finals, he said his inbox was full of tyrell fenroy mail. Im glad we got our voice out there. but, it seemed like even this guy was a fan of fenroy and the thing that hurt him was the first couple games and the last game against troy. Anyways, im proud of FENROY and i hope he runs ALL OVER MTSU!!! Geaux Cajuns!
