The coaching staff recruited him mostly as an OLB. Even coach Charpentier said he'd make a better defensive player in college and I agree. Andrew doesn't have the speed to play D-1 WR and that's fine because he's a great athlete and can transform into a defensive player. With his frame, he'll be able to pack on some mass and make a great OLB with his athletic ability.

Let him try where he wants and then he will get the picture as to whether he is playing or not!!! _

You tell him what position he'll play so you can make sure you're getting a kid that wants to come to your program and has been told everything up front. The worst thing is getting a kid that is told one thing and others happen and he becomes unhappy where he is. Besides, they can start preparing him in the offseason even before he signs to begin training and gaining weight and readying himself for a certain position. By putting everything out there, you allow the kid to make the decision he feels most comfortable with, not the other way around.

Don't let Coach Phillips hear you say that, I think he will have most of these kids walking on water in no time.

I like this fellow's versatility, looks like he has a very high football acumen as well...looking forward to seeing him on the field.

I can't beleive that more schools didn't offer him-----Maybe they knew the handwriting was on the wall and he was signed, sealed, and almost delivered to UL with his family's background-----think a willie is his future---btw is he a better athlete than our present wlbs????

Andrew is a better package of size and speed along with overall athletic ability. He is about 6'2" and will grow. He can be a lot like Grant Fleming and will probably get to grow into a 230 pound frame. He is fearless and likes to hit even when he's the one getting hit. He just has that mentality. I think he can play strong side as well but his versatility may move him to weakside.

Look, there is a lot that can be gained through a great strength and conditioning program but pure speed is something that can't just be increased. I know that they say Fenroy got faster and all but to be able to just increase your body's speed is very negligible. You've either got the fast twitch fiber makeup or you don't. Andrew didn't even play WR at Teurlings. He played TE his freshman year and played RB the final 3. He will definitely be a defensive player.

Who am I to say one way or another, but I have seen a kid go from a 4.69 40 his senior year to a sub 4.4 a year later. It all depends on work ethic and what sort of training and trainers the kid has been exposed to...I think Andrew has the work ethic part...

I do not see Coach Phillips as just a Football coach, he seems to have a little "Conquer Small 3rd World Country" coaching mixed in :-)

LOL. Dude, to go from a 4.69 to a sub 4.4, that is just amazing. There may be times where a kid goes through a development spurt but something like this just doesn't happen very often. Notice that I'm saying it is impossible but for the average player out there, it is hard to significantly increase pure speed. You can improve quickness, reaction time and power and overall force output. Again, I'm not saying it is impossible but there is a BIG difference from Andrew Hebert speed and WR's we even have right now.

Andrews dad told me he doesn't see him playing LB when I mentioned that position. He said he doesn't think he has the type of frame for it.

He looks and sounds like a twistin, turnin, snarlin, whatchamacallit of a player that plays like his hair is on fire...UL can never have too many of those on the field at any position...
