I think if Notre Dame isn't in Texas, the Cajuns will be. _
We will have lots more fans in St. Pete than FAU. If this scenario holds true, I see the Cajuns getting left out. BOP, so you see Notre Dame's decision being the key? Notre Dame would probably accept the invitation to the Texas Bowl to help its recruiting and fan base in the South/Southwest and play in an area of the country where they do not often play.

St. Pete isn't worried about the opponent bringing many fans, they are going to have cross-town South Florida in the game. Howard vs. USF has local marketing value that exceeds the number of tickets FAU would sell and it wouldn't shock me if a handful of the FAU fans going would be attending their first in-person FAU game.

Bowl prediction as per ESPN: PapaJohns.com
(Big East vs. SEC) Rutgers vs. Louisiana-Lafayette or Connecticut vs. Fresno State

cbs.com has asu to pappa johns, troy to new orleans and ul to independence - that is a scenario that I like

I'm happy with either of those scenerios. Hoping we go to the Any bowl in anywhere, USA.

This article doesn't sound like Rice signed up to play a mid-major in Houston:

The Texas Bowl holds a distinct advantage over the GMAC in that it offers Rice a chance to play a team from a BCS conference or perhaps Notre Dame, which despite its 6-6 record is still as big a name as there is in college football. The GMAC Bowl pairs the second selection from Conference USA against the No. 3 team from the Mid-American Conference.
