You just proved the point I was about to make. The difference between an A&M fan and a UL fan is that A&M fans have a one track mind. All they know is A&M sports. I am willing to bet that the majority of UL fans know more about Louisiana sports than A&M fans.

Yep that's it. I know nothing about "Louisiana sports." What I do know is that in the 5 games I went to at the Tigue this year, the stands were not half filled. Maybe I'm just used to a truly loyal fan base at the Box that shows up every weekend.

Against Houston the box was half empty for the last 3-4 innings because the bandwagon fans abandoned ship. LAst night the Cajuns stayed till the end and the place was packed.

The whole "tickets sold" thing at LSU counts corporate tickers whether anyone is actually using those seats or not.

TD, this meathead is Exhibit A as to why the other ULS schools are aiming their barbs in the wrong direction when they target UL as their enemy. UL has not tried to hinder the growth of any other ULS university. The same cannot be said of State and some of its fans.

Yep, LSU is terrified. ULL has made a single CWS appearance, it was 14 years ago, and they watched LSU dogpile in that same year. ULL football has scored a total of six points against LSU since 1925, has never mustered a single win in the 112 year season history, but "that is changing." But hey, you "own LSU" in softball, another sport in which ULL enjoys an empty trophy cabinet. These things all add to the pure terror which LSU faces when its fans wake up and think about that school down the road for people who didn't have the grades to go into LSU.

And when we talk about budgets, don't forget the fact that LSU athletics is 100% self funded while ULL is a leech on the taxpayers of the citizens of Louisiana.

LSU's athletics weren't always self-sustaining. Much of Tiger Stadium was constructed with state tax dollars.

In fact, only about 10 percent of D-1 athletic institutions are self-sufficient.

Congrats to LSU for being able to accomplish that. It is something our athletic program should strive for.
