I like Jay. He's bright, entertaining, informative, and I believe he's a huge Ragin Cajun fan. I don't fault Jay for his behavior with some radio guests. I do think he's too thin-skinned about things on here that don't always agree with him. He took great offense a couple of years ago when I was actually defending him. I believe he cannot, due to his job, say things that would destroy his relationship with UL... primarily the president, AD and the coaches. I also think that "fans"... in the general sense... can be attacked and used as scape goats by all media. Jay knows this is true. But, he got aggravated that it implied he wasn't being honest about who he attacks and who he defends. I'm just a tad too bright, known way too many people in a wide variety of roles, not to know precisely how this scene gets played out.
I don't blame individual people in life for liking specific individuals over other individuals. But to look across the fan landscape and pretend that the hand that punches the hardest isn't also the hand that claps the loudest... is a fool's fan fantasy. Last year, even Hud screwed up in believing the most supportive fan wasn't also his most critical.
