Rate the job Scott Farmer is doing as UL AD

I gave him a 7. Yes he does not coach any teams but he oversees this activity at the same time keep the academic side in order. It's not easy as everyone thinks. For all that I gave him 5.

The additional 2 points are for not being a "bubba". For an AD we do not need an LSU boy or someone from within. As much as I don't like some things, Farmer is the closest thing to an AD we've had since Terry Don Phillips.

He did hire Hud and Marlin, so there's that. He almost blew the Lotief situation. Success of our programs in terms of winning this year in my mind has nothing to do with Farmer. Hell it even feels like Hud is the one who conceived the UL athletic rennovation idea and drove it forward. May not be true but that's what it seems like. But I guess farmer can always say "yeah I hired him".

What happens when Hud is gone and Farmer has to take over as our ambassador? We will see soon, I would have to imagine.

I believe Terry Don was a better AD. Unfortunately he was held back by bathe Fossil so he left. I think magically transporting TD to this current situation would show us what a truly professional AD is.

Why was he a better AD? Did he get us into a better conference? Did he lead any facility improvements?

We were not in a conference at the time. Successful D1A football independents were common. He wanted the ability to create a booster funding organization but was blocked by The Fossil. He had vision, but again was blocked by The Fossil,he left. He was a very successful at his subsequent stops where the admin did not hinder athletics.

Sounds like you are blaming others for the lack of success the department had while he was here. Others don't seem to give Farmer the same benefit despite the disadvantage he had when he took over.

lets break down the different duties of the Ad and see where he might stand---the conference realignment D (but again how much of this is T-Joe----Budget B (substantial increase is happening)---Professionalism B (he is an AD with experience on the job and Walker was a good numbers guy)---Hiring A (great job)----Personality B (he makes the effort but obviously is no HUD)---Facilities A (compare our ongoing construction to any in the country)---Coordination of game day events A (he has this whole situation well in hand in all sports)----Attendance A- (great job of getting butts in the seats---Academic performance A (best this university has ever done and best in the state)----State comparisons of programs---A- (Football #2, basketball #2, softball #1, Baseball #1, WBBall quantum leap!!!! Overall I guess A- to a B+--------------What categories have I left out?????
