Yep. We're getting ready to embark on what I think could possibly be a multi-million dollar expansion and improvement in our athletic complex. And we better dam_ well take care of the ladies first.

Why? Because we sure don't want to get in more trouble about providing comparable facilities for both the men and women. Shame on us if we do that again.

    Just my 2 cents.

  2. Default New Stadium

    any word on the progress?

Are you asking about the softball stadium? Do you really think "they" want to change the status quo? I've been hearing about this new, magnificent project for about 3 years now. At that time, Gerald Hebert said they were going to build coaches offices out there, and an athletic lounge for the players. Now, Scott Farmer says they're going to build a new stadium - the whole enchilada. Nothing yet. My guess, not for another three years. Anyway, where is the money coming from?

Unlike lsu. When they said that they were going to double deck the football stadium heavy equiptment was moved in the night of the last home game. Pictures of this was on our daily rag Sunday morning. Now that's progress. We stay in the talking and wishing stage until everyone forgets about it. I know I'm comparing apples to oranges. Are should I say weeds to roses. I hope I can eat my words around the first of the year.......I sure would like to be sitting in my new box seats at Lamson for the start of the season.

Is this true? How'd they get the money? Did they make each player's parent take up a second job and donate all income? (Being sarcastic, female sports get the short end). I hope the facility gets an upgrade. They've earned it. While they're at it take the current name: Alfred and Helen Lamson Ragin' Cajuns Softball Park (that's 8 words) and shorten it to LAMSON PARK, easy! This community and state can't even decide on what to call our Univerisy much less a softball park...it's wayyyy to long. _

You must be one of the biggest grouches on this board. The name that the poster was referring to was the name of the softball park not the name of the school.

There are a lot of us hoping to get more information. _
