    Default 2009 team & coaches ?

Please help us who are not down there out. What is going on with this team? What is the feeling about our coaching staff? Watched y'al jump all over Bustle when he was having problems winning in a few years time span. Why is everyone so quiet? This is one of the sports that we should be on top in. Thought with the new talent coming in we would be something.

Team - Has some injuries to key people. Will not have full complement of players until after the Semester ends. Cannot shot. Cannot rebound. Cracks under pressure.

Coach - Seems like a nice guy who is in over his head. Is too emotional on the sidelines. Offense does not run good half court sets. Even though we go 10 deep, Lee does not run a lot of pressure on defense.

Fans - Some of the big posters on this board have been very supportive of Lee. I think they are reluctant to admit we may be on the wrong track. Make no mistake though...if Lee turns in a sub .500 season almost every Cajun fan will want him gone.

The only hope right now is when we get all of our players back we can make a run in the SBC.

Cracks under pressure is totally correct. Lee being to emotional makes his players tentative and hesitant. I also believe he is not positive enough with his team.

After the game, Lee said he was positive with the team at halftime. Look at the result at the end of the game.

Probably so. However, since we're only 4 games into the season and still without two of the most important players on the team, the talk is mainly La'State style jibber jabber.

I do also have the feeling there are some who really want Lee to fail for their personal reasons which play no part in my assessment.

Your statement is simply not tue on it's face. Plenty of us have supported Bustle knowing full well what he had to deal with when he took the job. He has the team as strong as it's been since the best of the Stokley years only to have injuries flat out kill us these past several games. The most obvious example was the UTEP game at home which there's no way we lose with a healthy Dez and our front line LBs on the field.

I thought most people were modeling their basketball gripes around the Iowa State model.

J1M, I'm not familiar with the Iowa St model. Does it require jumping down people's backs in order to get off the bandwagon? The APR issues and the probation are behind us now. Despite Daigle's broken hand and Gradnigo's staph infection, I feel sure Coach Lee understands it's time to put the type of product on the court that Cajun fans expect.

So, let the 2008-2009 season's outcome play the main role in the performance evaluation process.

I was being silly... I have no idea how Iowa State fans behave. I'm eager to see Lee prove his critics wrong.

If I remember correctly, after Bustle's first couple years it was a roller coaster ride with people jumping on and off, but there sure was a lot of comments about getting a new head coach over the last 3-years before this season started.

As for Coach Lee. I have only met the man once and only see a couple games on TV, but plenty of on-line (computer radio) listening. Just someting seems missing. Guess if I was there I could put my finger on it. That is why I asked for fair assessments from you who know what is going on.

Pretty much hits on the head here. I've been one of Lee's bigger supporters but I'm starting to waiver. Like Metry said, we have a LOT of athleticism but no kind of full court pressure to turn the ball over and let guys like McCoy, Johnson, bureau etc...work to their strengths. Play good D overall but still lack rebounding force and we aren't particularly good at the FT Line.

Main problem with this team is that we have NO leadership.....Period

Of course coach Lee knows its time to put a good product on the court. No basketball coach would think otherwise. However, the problem many here have is that they feel he is incapable of doing that. We've had our two best players out sure.. However, Lee has been unable to adjust to those losses and implement a different plan. Don't get me wrong, I feel for him with all the injuries that this team has had to endure. When you bring in a bunch of new guys, it takes a while for a chemistry to develop. However, coach has failed to get the ball inside to Barr when the opponents' team's tallest player was 6'5". When your center sees the ball 5 or 6 times in the post the whole game, there is something wrong.
