If we win and Ark St. wins there will be a 3 way tie for first. The good news is we would be co-conference champs. The bad news with Fla Atl. coming from 14 behind with 3 min. left against Fla Int. today to win, Fla Atl. would be the 4the place team. The SBC tie-breaker rule states in a 3 way tie the teams would first be looked at head to head. In this case the teams would all be 1-1 against the other. Next they would be judged against the 4th place team which is Fla Atl. which we lost to so we would be eliminated. Both Troy and Ark St. beat Fla Atl. so they would then go on to the 5th place team and so on. In either case if Troy or Ark St. wins the tie breaker the other team would still have 7 wins so they would be taken before the Cajuns with a 6-6 record. The bottom line under this senario for the Cajuns to get a bowl invite would mean that 3 SBC teams would go bowling. This is very possible but not as likely as 2 SBC teams bowling.

Also in a 3 way tie for conference champ this may mean that Bustle gets an extension as his contract says.

UL will beat MT
Ark St. will lose for to Troy.

Sun Belt will have 4 bowl eligible teams. Troy, UL, Ark St. FAU
I had read the NO bowl issued a press release that said they would release Troy from the NO bowl if the Papa Johns would be open so......
Troy to Pappa Johns (close to Troy)
UL to NO bowl
Ark. St. to Independence bowl.
REMEMBER like Jay walker says the bowls just want to sell tickets..So Troy fans will travel to Birmingham, UL fans will travel to NO and Ark. St. fans will travel to Shreveport.

My Saturday night gut feeling is this.

Beat Middle Tennessee and either publicly or privately the deal will get cut.

Cajuns to New Orleans, ASU to Shreveport, Troy to Birmingham without regard to the ASU-Troy result.

ASU's AD supposedly was dropping hints that if the Cajuns win and ASU wins we will opt-out of New Orleans in favor of Shreveport. It's 130 miles closer to Shreveport for our fans in Jonesboro and 230 miles closer for the folks around Little Rock.

Shreveport or more correctly the Tech fans want a name in Shreveport but if Oregon/Oregon State holds up, I think you will see an ACC team or possibly Big East in Detroit.

I'm still not totally convinced Notre Dame will take a bid at 6-6 so that can free up a game.

ArkStFan who do you think would be the match ups with the 3 SBC teams in your senerio?

Last week ESPN had Rutgers going to the pappajohns bowl representing the Big East and Memphis going to the New Orleans bowl representing CUSA. Not much has changed here. I think these are good match ups for the SBC. As for the Independence this will most likely be a 7-5 at-large team from anywhere, it is anybodys guess. This would most likely be the toughest matchup for the SBC.

I was just watching the Notre Dame/USC game and it was stated that Notre Dame would except a bowl invitation at 6-6 if it is later than Dec. 20th because of exams.
