As far as I know, our vital players are injury free, but I'm sure there are bumps and bruises, like every team this late in the season.

Our O-Line is our bugaboo, but they seem to protect our QB very well. Our rushing game is another story.

Our "D" gives up too many big-yardage plays (50+ yards), so Des and Fenroy scare the hell out of me, for breaking a long one.

Des has had our number in recent years.

The good news is...... the favored team seems to always lose when it comes to MT vs. UL. And the home team usually loses.

We must be at the top of our game to beat the Cajuns. We have just 9 seniors, and a limited scholie number due to APR hits, defections, etc. We only have about 70 scholarship players on roster currently.

We are playing about our best football of the year right now, but that was against ULM, WKU, and North Texas.

Other than our Maryland win, and NT, we have not played a complete game (well) as of yet.

NO! If we get an invite, we go bowling. 6 wins is what "earns" it. Nothing more, nothing less. I am sick of people saying we shouldn't go because we haven't earned it. I have seen MANY seasons where "undeserving" teams (NOT us!) went a bowl game. There will be 6-6 teams going to a bowl this year. Should they all decline an invitation because they don't "deserve" to go? Now, you can argue there are too many bowl games and that rewards mediocrity, and I might agree with you. But right now, the situation is that these bowl games are potentially available for teams possibly like us. I say we take it, if we beat MTSU and are offered, and don't ask any questions.

For those who though LSU had a bad night against Troy, try putting this in perspective. LSU scored 37 points in the last 25 minutes against a time that annihilated us. _
LSU DID have a bad night. Fortunately for them, they had a little help from Troy in scoring those 37 late points.

Stop with the small time thinking that would set this program back another 10 years. There is no way possible to explain away rejecting a bowl game offer to your existing players, your fans, or (more importantly) your future recruits.

Just do your fair share after we beat MT and buy 10 tickets to the bowl game. It will be step one in making sure we don't lose any money on our first bowl game in 30+ years.

I knew that which is why I asked about injuries.

To the peopel who think we should turn down a bowl invite..BBWWWAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As John McEnroe said...You cannot be serious! Do you realize how stupid we would look if we turned down our first ever Bowl invite? We would be the laughing stock of college football. What do you think coming in 8th place in the SEC is? How about 5th place in CUSA. Sounds pretty mediocre to me!

This season has unraveled on us, but we have to go bowling if we are invited. The players deserve it.

It would be stupid to turn down a bowl game.
I have longed for this for so long.
Louisiana representing on National T.V. Bowls bring home money and recruits.
Just think a bunch of cajun fans in N.O. or Shreveport partying it up.

    We have to beat MT.
It will not be good for Bustle if we lose this game. If we win, and get to a bowl, the team will have time to heal.
All will be healed if we win the bowl game.

People who are ready to fire Bustle need to read your statement.

I'll take it a step further. If we get to a bowl game and lose, you still can't fire him.

I know, I know: Mediocrity, 7 years, dip, gap teeth, no headset...

If he gets us to a bowl game he is safe, and we should be happy! Beating Middle Tennessee is the single most important game of Bustle's career.

It will be interesting to see if that fact will be translated to what we see on the field.

I second what you said, and have something to add. A bunch of people are saying that we aren't worthy of a bowl game this year, well what about 2005? I damn well guarantee you that we were bowl worthy then, and we sure got a bad break then. I'd rather be bowling and not worthy than staying at home as the best team in the conference. Sometimes you catch some breaks, and sometimes you don't. I just think this year we might be in position to catch a break...but can we put ourselves in position to capitalize? To find out, TUNE IN NEXT WEEK, SAME BAT TIME, SAME BAT PLACE!
