TROY, Ala. - On a chilly Alabama night that saw temperatures dip near freezing, the cold streak continued for a battered and bruised UL football team.

The Ragin' Cajuns entered Saturday night needing one more victory to become bowl eligible and clinch at least a share of the Sun Belt title but got drilled by Troy, 48-3, at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

With the loss, UL (5-6 overall, 4-2 Sun Belt) dropped its third straight game and fell below the .500 mark. The Cajuns finished with season-low totals in points (three) and total yardage (255) against the league's top defense.

"What can I say?" UL coach Rickey Bustle said. "Troy played a heck of a good football game.

"When you can't stop anybody and can't put any points on the board you're not going to win."
