The UL women's basketball team fell to 0-4 all-time against Ole Miss following a 74-48 loss on Wednesday night at Earl K. Long gym.
The Cajuns hung with the Rebels early, but a 17-0 run late in the first half allowed the Lady Rebels (3-0) to pull away.
UL had difficulty in the post, out-rebounded 53-30 and out-scored 38-14 in the paint by the much taller Ole Miss team.
The loss handed the Cajuns their first 0-2 start since the 2002-03 season. The game also marked the first time since Arkansas visited Lafayette on Jan. 15, 1982 that UL hosted a Southeastern Conference opponent at Long gym.
"We played great in the first 17 minutes of the first half," said senior point guard Whitney Dunlap. "They hit a few shots and we started to question ourselves. We lost focus and you can't do that against a good team like this."
