If he would have mentioned any other ethnic group or culture like Hispanic, Asian or African American, would the same people be willing to give this kid a pass? For those that were outraged by Donald Sterling’s comments, do you arbitrarily give this young man a pass because he was talking about a Caucasian culture? Just thought I would ask the question because some people on this board called in to ESPN1420 when the news of Sterling’s comments broke and were outraged.

Just to be clear, I don’t care what he stated about Lafayette because I’ve heard some of that garbage before and many of us have said similar things about Monroe and a few other communities. But I’ve never attacked another culture or ethnic group which such callousness on any message board, blog, print media and radio.
Bingo T. We talked about that at work. I respect Jay, but the interview, to me, came off as a beer summit moment. I didn't like that profiling was thrown out there for the police incident. Get the officer's side before a judgement like that is used. I have a cousin that is a Lafayette officer and his dad was a sheriff's deputy before passing away and that allegation got under my skin. You want to talk about how bad the streets are layed out? Sure. We all know that. Did the traffic stop play part? Sure, but he didn't even get a ticket. This guy piled on attacking an entire city, people, their culture and their heritage. It was malicious. I personally don't think he apologizes if not called out. A simple, "I'm so sorry." doesn't just wipe the slate for now. Will I forgive him? Yes, eventually. I know that he "might" come back on Jay's dime. Ok. When Jay asked him if he would print it in the paper if he changed his mind about us, he crawfished saying he doesn't have the final say so. I would have liked him to have finished that statement with, "But I will try everything in my power to make that happen." Do you really think he will broadcast it on the air? Do you really think that he will even ever show up? I'll believe it when I see it and hear it.

I think the guy was apologetic only because he got caught. The apology did not come off sincere. That's my opinion. He may regret his words someday, but I don't think that day was yesterday. I agree with Crowley Cajun in that "profiling" was a horrible angle to pursue or suggest.

And as for as the interview goes, I think it should have been conducted by Kyle.

    'nough said on that.

    GEAUX CAJUNS!!!
