Thread: Bulldogs Sports Radio talking Cajuns

  1. Default Re: Bulldogs Sports Radio talking Cajuns

I seem to recall a few years back Jay saying we couldn't host because of the press box situation

But and however, memories get jumbled and hosts we are.

Interesting. Did he explain how it became the worst time of his life?

Didn't listen to his original show, and I won't. But i think his interview with Jay was sincere. Hope he doesn't lose job either.

I do think he and Jays profiling excuse was lame. I used to work nights downtown when attending UL and got pulled over numerous times with a LA license plate when heading home. Cops used to always do exactly what he described: "Pulled you over for xyz, have you been drinking??" And Id say no and was on my way home, no ticket. Simply cracking down on drinking & driving. Nothing else IMO.

Here's something I was wondering: when you're going to a town you've never been in for 4 days, don't you find somebody who's been there and can tell you where to geaux?

What are the best places to eat? What should I see while I'm there? We have ridiculously long threads of golden information here about that.

Didn't this dude ask somebody where to geaux and what to do? He would've enjoyed his Monday a lot more at Prejeans, checking out the Louisiana campus and Cypress Lake, hell any number of things besides driving the wrong way away from Lafayette into the horse farms of Sunset and the neighborhoods of Lafayette high.

If people would learn to ask more questions, they'd save themselves a lot of grief.

I agree with this.. While I thought Jays interview was very well done, he let him off on the cop pulling him over too easily.. Scenario

Cop sees car with no lights
Car leaving a place where drinking was known to have been taking place
Cop asks if he had been drinking and he adequately explained who he was...where he was coming from..and that he was not drinking
Cop accepts the explanation...hands him his license and says be careful

Seems to me things were handled properly and I don't see any profiling... As a btw.. I rent cars from time to time and often find it difficult to figure how to turn lights on if they don't come on automatically .

Did she see some areas of town which would make he feel that Lafayette was "unsafe" for him? Was he worried that if he does take Jay up on his offer, Jay will not look out for this guy's safety? Thought that was a weird comment?
It was probably safe for him before the game. I doubt that it is safe for him here now. One thing I learned quickly when I moved to Lafayette: My Cajun friends were the best friends anyone could ever hope for, but once crossed they could also be the worst enemies one could ever dream of.

I thought Matthew was contrite during the interview and showed remorse for what took place while still accepting responsibility. Sometime the back and forth of conversation leads off in a direction not intended. Once he had time to reflect on how what was said in the interview would be heard by the populace it was about, I would imagine he was shocked himselft.

As to the other guy who was part of the interview, he can stay in Mississippi. Although they thankfully are fewer and father between, there are still far too many folks like that in the world, and we don’t need that kind of individual in our community.

Pfff, the SEC doesn't concern itself with our podunk little ____hole. I think he made up his mind before he entered Louisiana.

A true apology would've been releasing a print article right after his radio comments to resend what he said. Not being invited on to a radio show in Lafayette and accepting then telling us what we want to hear.

And I'm not even cold hearted, I just really think this guys is a f-cking douche and doesn't deserve our sympathy.
This. "F" this guy! He sounded like he was about to cry while Jay was asking him about the things he said. He's a _____. He was a big man on campus talking to the d-bag listeners he has, but when he got called on it (I'm sure his bosses told him he better make amends), he was apologetic. I didn't think he was the least bit sincere. He was trying to save his sorry ___ job! ____ that fat slob! That was nothing more than his dumb ___ trying to save his job. Anyone who thinks differently, PLEASE give me one reason this donkey would take 10 minutes of his miserable life to come on a radio show here and explain himself. He has ZERO ties to this area, and has NO reason to make amends with any of us, unless his bosses told him to do so. He's a _____ and deserves an ___ whipping. PERIOD.
