The string of bad news for the UL men's basketball team finally ended over the weekend.

While the Cajuns lost to Louisiana Tech, 61-59, in Saturday's season opener at the Cajundome, last season's leading scorer Chris Gradnigo was released from the hospital on Sunday. The sophomore guard was admitted to the hospital on Thursday to treat a staph infection in his left elbow.

Gradnigo remains out indefinitely as UL (0-1) looks to rebound tonight at 7:05 against former Southland, American South and Sun Belt foe Lamar (1-0) at the Cajundome.
