Cant wait to watch this kid develop over the next 2 seasons.
That is awesome!! That's a hell of allot of A-A's on this team.
NICE
Not to take anything away from this, but it looks like there are an awful lot of players on this "team". Looks to me like if you were a freshman and had a decent season, you made it. (85 players overall and 36 pitchers with a quick count)
Has anybody gotten any info as to why Bazar hasn't pitched in (what seems like) forever? If I'm not mistaken, he hasn't thrown a single pitch since the regular season.
Completely agree. I was just asking if anyone had heard anything that would be different than that. Some people were asking why he didn't close Monday. I, for one, was elated to see Plitt come out for the 9th. A senior with "cojones grande" was exactly what we needed out there.
85 players out of about 2,000 + or - D-1 freshmen is still a very select group. Lucroy was AA Freshman. Pretty sure BT also
Trust me, I know plenty about the game. And that's why I wondering why Bazar hasn't thrown at all. I understand the situational aspect this past weekend, but I have my doubts that there's any "card saving" going on. I have a hard time believing Robe will run a freshman out there in a Super Regional, who hasn't thrown a pitch in 3 weeks. Unless it's in a game that is out of hand.
He's using the pitchers that he feels will best get the job done at this point. It's that simple. There's nothing against the guys that havent pitched but Plitt was the guy to get it done on Monday. Hicks the guy on Sunday afternoon. Maybe he could've used Bazar late in the first MSU game, but he went with other guys they felt matchup better. I agree that it's not a case of saving up these arms for later use. I dont think it's a big deal though.
Congratulations, RB.
