Man, 1998 was a bad year. Average attendance 8,798. What went on that year?

That was when we hired acoach who felt like it was not his job to put fans in the stands nor win football games...

The same guy who sued the school because he felt he was terminated because of his race.

It was good to be a Cajun back then...

Actually, 1998 was Stokley's last year. So we were coming off a 2-win season where we lost to a DII team. That explains things.....

I remember those games and I promise you there were no where near that many people in the stands.

I was a student then, those numbers are probably doubled! I remember a few games I was embarrassed, there were so few people in attendance!

If i remember Coach Stokley's last game had about 2000-3000 in the stands, and it was raining.

I missed all of that. Too wrapped up in my personal life and issues at that point. Very strange time. I wasn't following football at all. Probably the only time that was true since age 5. Sounds like dark times.

Against Western Kentucky. We put up a pretty decent score on them. Brad Franklin returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Jack Harbaugh (WKU's coach at the time, and Jim Harbaugh's dad) had some really classy comments about Stokley after the game.
