When you're pitching on a staff that has two pitchers sign and another get drafted, it's hard to stand out.

So Colton Daigle bided his time and played his role in helping the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams make the Class 5A state tournament this past spring.

On Thursday, though, he grabbed a little spotlight of his own when he signed a national letter of intent to extend his baseball career with the UL Ragin' Cajuns.

"UL is where I wanted to go all along,'' said Daigle, who canceled visits to McNeese State and Southeastern, La. "Once I visited (UL), I committed the first time.''
