UL — It’s become a question of how healthy rather than how much better for the University of Louisiana basketball team.
Preseason injuries and illnesses have already taken their toll as UL prepares to open the regular season tonight at 7:05 p.m. when Louisiana Tech visits the Cajundome.
The Cajuns are scheduled to be without two starters —forward Chris Gradnigo and guard Randell Daigle.
Gradnigo reportedly has an elbow staph infection, while Daigle won’t play because of a hand injury.
The two players combined to average nearly 19 points last season.
With Gradnigo and Daigle ailing, the Cajuns will probably start sophomore forward Travis Bureau, forward LaRyan Gary, center Jeremy Barr and point guard Ryan McCoy.
