As the UL women's basketball team enters the 2008-09 season, second-year coach Errol Rogers knows why outside expectations are low.

The Cajuns return only two starters and five letter-winners from last season's 8-22 team. Only one senior is back in guard Whitney Dunlap after starters Alicia McDaniel, Sonora Edwards and Courtney Ratliff exhausted their eligibility. The team's remaining returnees have four total varsity letters.

UL, which has added nine newcomers accustomed to Roger's up-tempo offensive and defensive attack, was picked in the preseason to finish last in the Sun Belt's West Division. The new-look Cajuns unveil their motion offense at 7 tonight on the road against Texas Southern.
