College Football Betting – Sun Belt Power Poll

    by Mike Rose

1: Florida International Golden Panthers (7-2 ATS, 4-5 SU) The Golden Panthers have been fantastic for sports betting aficionados this season, including their 22-21 upset victory over Arkansas State last week. Since getting crushed 42-0 by Iowa in its second game of the season, FIU is 6-1 ATS, and has covered the spread by an average of 12.9 points per game.

    Next up: Bye

2: Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (7-2 ATS, 5-4 SU) The Cajuns had their seven-game cover streak stuffed by UTEP when they lost 37-24 as 13.5-point favorites against the Miners. They’re three wins from going to the New Orleans Bowl, but have two tough tests coming in Florida Atlantic and Troy. Their offense ranks #8 churning out 480.7 yards per game.

Next up: Away @ Florida Atlantic (4-5)

3: Florida Atlantic Owls (5-4 ATS, 4-5 SU) Florida Atlantic turned heads last season by winning the Sun Belt, but it has struggled this year going just 2-2 in conference play. The Owls have picked up three straight wins though, and could conceivably win the conference again. They’re 3-0 ATS all-time against this week’s opponent, UL.

Next up: Home vs. Louisiana (5-4)

4: Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (5-4 ATS, 3-7 SU) Warhawks bettors have quietly racked up three straight victories after sticking in front of the four point spread with their 24-21 loss at Middle Tennessee State over the weekend. In all but one of their games against FBS opponents, the final margin of victory has been within 14 points. The game that wasn’t was against Auburn, and ULM takes on another SEC club this weekend.

Next up: Away @ Mississippi (5-4)

5: Troy Trojans (4-4 ATS, 6-3 SU) The Men of Troy are primed to take another Sun Belt title, but they’re going to need to win their final two conference games to do so. They took care of Western Kentucky 17-7, but were disappointing against the 16.5-point spread. Next week is a make-up game from earlier in the season, and the Bayou Bengals will most likely be in a foul mood after losing at home to Alabama last week.

Next up: Away @ LSU (6-3)

6: Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (3-6 ATS, 3-6 SU) MTSU has been one of the more inconsistent teams in America. The Blue Raiders beat ULM 24-21 on Saturday, but failed to cover the four-point spread. They’re 3-0 ATS against the SEC and ACC, but 0-6 ATS against the rest of their schedule.

Next up: Away @ Western Kentucky (2-8)

7: Arkansas State Red Wolves (3-6 ATS, 4-5 SU) Since scoring 83 points against Texas Southern, the Red Wolves have only scored a total of 153 points. They dropped their fifth straight betting decision last week, losing 22-21 to FIU, and return home this week for their first home game since October 11th.

Next Up: Home vs. Florida Atlantic (4-5)

8: North Texas Mean Green (3-7 ATS, 1-9 SU) It’s been another miserable season for North Texas after running off multiple Sun Belt titles several seasons ago. The Mean Green dropped a 46-13 decision to Florida Atlantic last week, which snapped their two-game cover streak on the road. They’ll have their final road test of the season in two weeks in Murfreesboro against the Blue Raiders.

    Next Up: Bye
