Topeka native Lucas Yarnell was inducted into the Coffeyville Community College Hall of Fame for his play as an offensive lineman during the 1992-93 seasons.

Yarnell, a three-year starter at Washburn Rural and a part of the school's 1989 5A state championship team, was a two-time first-team All-American for the Ravens, leading the team to a second-place finish in the Jayhawk Conference and to bowl games in both seasons.

Yarnell went on to play at the University of Louisiana, then enjoyed a 10-year career in the Arena Football League. Yarnell was a member part of the 2001 AFL champion Grand Rapids Rampage.

Yarnell also played the part of a prisoner in the 2005 remake of "The Longest Yard."

He has been an assistant football coach at Olathe East since 2000.
