LOUISIANA La. — UL senior left-hander Andy Gros became the third Cajun pitcher this season to be named Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday for his contributions to the Cajuns’ impressive 3-1 week.

Gros played key roles in two non-conference wins, including a 4-2 win over nationally ranked Nebraska on Friday evening.

During the week, Gros pitched 10 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing six hits and four walks with 11 strikeouts.

Overall, Gros has pitched 16 consecutive scoreless innings.
