He meant no Pro Sports, and gave his background, and has no ill will towards Lafayette.

He mentioned those who were mad at him also offered to feed him if he came back.

at about the 1:10 mark, he says that he said what he did (not alot to do in Lafayette) because we don't have professional sports teams here. Buncha crap if you ask me.

There are 2 kinds of sports fans in this country.

For some of them, their world revolves around collegiate athletics. To others, their world revolves around professional sports.

    Coachman is a pro-sports guy.

Pro-sports people have no business on collegiate sport shows.

Don't forget he will be on Scott's show today as well. He will probably say the same but hopefully Scott has a little fun with him.

"Just understand we are talking about college sports and not life or death" that was his last sentence...

That's actually the smartest thing I've heard in a while. We could've used Coachman's moderation last night while we were melting down. I mean losing. LOL

First of all, most major college towns don't house a professional franchise that's garbage. Second, Lafayette has hosted more minor league pro sports teams & events including wraslin, than most American urban areas, especially in the South. So his comments are baseless & show the ignorance of most people not from this part of the country.
Translated what he said was. I'm a dumb @$$ arrogant Yankee looking for something to make fun of so I can feel better about myself & justify why "those" people actually support a collegiate sport which features women.

What I don't get is if he was trying to insult Louisiana, women, or college sports. The fact is if he weren't a minority he'd have been facing suspension. Sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander.

I think it's pretty cool that he is at least coming on our shows and talking about it. Most people (especially ESPN guys) would not give us the time of day.

I feel he is entitled to his point of reference.

For example, if I like snow skiing, there's not much to do in Lafayette. (at least not since Pack & Paddle got rid of their giant indoor carpeted Ski and snowboard simulators)

He said all the right things. I'll take the man at his word.
