_ Des could not run very well tonight. He just couldn't go. They knew it and zeroed in on Fenroy and forced us to beat them with the pass. I think Brad M. would have been more effective tonight. _

And, we were effective when we blitzed. Then quit blitzing and he had all night. FAU is a passing team and will be ready for us.

What makes our rushing game go is Desormeaux because they can't focus just on Fenroy. Desormeaux clearly cannot run and tonight could not pass either. McQuire should have played.

Plus, it would have given him a chance to heal up for the rest of the Sunbelt games. Poor decision by the coaches tonight, imo.

Our number 2 QB must have breen hurt or is not ready to play. The D. Coaches of UTEP must be thankng Coach B for making their job much easier. Mike cannot run much; only T-Train (carried the team) and a fair passing game (3 ints; dropped balls) and no QB to run. No clue how our coaching staff thought we would possibly win this one with Mike; particularly after he tried to run in 1st Q. Late in game he got a couple of runs off. Scared me. Now he's more banged up. Looked like we lost another LB for the game on kickoff; Richard. FAU and Troy are going to have a field day if Mike is not ready. I can't understand why he played tonight. As Jay Walker said, the good news is that it's not conference. Bad news is that next three are and Mike is more banged up. Dumb move of the year. Defense just could not play with their line. No pressure and our backs and LBs were either told to play really loose or just could not keep up with their receivers. Made them look silly on many plays. To make it worse; we saw an outstanding kick off guy and punter. Hopefully, Mike can heal fast; I think that was the main difference in game even with mistakes, etc. UTEP ignored Mike as a runner after first series or two.

Memo to our off. staff: you must run the QB every once in awhile to keep the Defense honest! If Des can't go let Brad give it a shot...

With Des hobbled like he has been the last 2 weeks...maybe it might be a good idea to go to something I mentioned in a post a couple weeks ago. A "Wild Cajun" type of formation whee Chery would get the direct snap. It would be another way to get the ball into Chery's hands and also take a lot of pressure off of MD because he would not be asked to run the ball a lot.
